R&D Facilities

Global Technology Centre and R&D Infrastructure

VST plans to establish a Global Technology Center in Hosur, with an investment of INR 100 crores (USD 12 Mn), which will be implemented in a phase-wise manner. This initiative aims to fast-track product development pipeline and ensuring timely launch of cutting-edge products.

This Center is positioned to adapt to the shifting landscape of technology, focusing on forefront of electric machinery. Emphasizing the importance of field-to-lab simulation, VST team is committed to ensure seamless products alignment with the evolving needs of its valuable customers.

Hosur Facility

Established in 2014, VST’s Hosur facility in Tamil Nadu stands as a beacon of agricultural innovation. Situated on 19 acres, this modern plant manufactures tractors ranging from 17 HP to 50 HP, with an annual capacity of 40,000 units.

The facility features advanced technology for producing powerful and efficient tractors to meet farmers’ diverse needs. With a dedicated workforce and streamlined production processes, it emphasizes reliability, underscoring VST’s mission of undivided and undeterred committment towards innovative quality products.

Malur Facility

Established in 2018, VST’s Malur facility in Karnataka epitomizes modern agricultural advancement. Spanning 10 acres, this cutting-edge plant focuses on producing smart farm machines with an annual capacity of 60,000 units.

Equipped with the latest technology, the facility ensures innovative and efficient farming solutions. It boasts streamlined processes and a highly skilled workforce committed to excellence. The Malur facility fosters continuous improvement and sustainability, reinforcing VST’s commitment to empowering farmers and enhancing productivity

Mysuru Facility

Since its establishment in 1996, VST’s Mysuru facility in Karnataka has been a cornerstone of agricultural excellence. Covering 5 acres, this advanced manufacturing plant specializes in producing farm implements and components with an annual capacity exceeding 100,000 units.

Combining Mysuru’s rich industrial heritage with modern technology, the facility ensures precision and quality in every product. It streamlines production processes and maintains high standards of durability and performance, promoting sustainability.

Milestones

VST Tillers Tractors Ltd. is a division of the VST group, established by Late Sri. V.S. Thiruvengadaswamy Mudaliar in 1911. The group has expanded successfully to become the largest power tiller manufacturer in India and also made a global presence in more than 40 countries with its range compact tractors and small farm equipment.

1966 – 67

  • The Government of Mysuru allots 18.5 acres of land and agrees to invest Rs.15 lakhs by Equity Capital and thus the first agro based industry in Mysuru state was established
  • The Government of India grants an industrial license to manufacture Power Tillers
  • Joint Venture agreement signed by V T Padmanaban with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd (MHI) & Mitsubishi Shoji Kaisha, Japan
  • VST Tillers Tractors Limited gets its Certificate of Incorporation under the Companies Act 1956
  • The first Agro based Industry in Mysuru State was established

1969

  • Dr. Sir. A. Ramaswamy Mudaliar appointed first Chairman with Mr. V.T. Krishnamoorthy & Mr. V.T. Velu as Managing Directors

1970

  • Construction of the Factory at Dyavasandra Industrial Layout begins in 1969 and is completed in 1970

1972

  • Excellent Rating by High level world bank delegates visiting the factory rating

1978

  • First batch power tiller exported to African countries

1981

  • Introduction of Power Tiller with water cooled engine

1982

  • Government of India grants permission for Manufacturing of 4WD Compact Tractors in 14-20 HP Range
  • 4WD tractors in the of 14 to 20 HP started

1983

  • MT 180 D – First 4WD Compact Tractor in India in Technical Collaboration with Mitsubishi Agriculture Machinery (MAM)

1985

  • First product launch by Me S. Inoue, President MAM
  • Susidiary of Power tiller was introduced by Government of India

1989

  •  Mr. V.T. Velu relinquished his post of Managing Director and takes over as Chairman after guiding the company for over two decades without drawing any remuneration. Mr. V. P. Mahendra succeeded him

1990

  • India’s Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Devi Lal visits the factory and recommends subsidy for small tractors

1992

  • VST celebrated Silver Jubilee with 5000 Power Tiller milestone

1995

  • Central Agriculture Minister Shri Balram Jakhar launches VST Shakti 130 DI Power Tiller
  • VST precision components Ltd. was promoted by the company along with kinsho-Matachi Corporation, Japan for the manufacture of crucial engine components

1997

  • 100% indigenization of MT170 Tractors (without any imported parts)

1998

  • ISO 9001 Quality System Certification to Mysore Plant

1999

  • QS 9000 Quality Management System Certification to Mysore Plant

2001

  • ISO – TS 16949 Quality Management system certification to Mysore Plant

2003-2004

  • VST Precision Components merges with VST Tillers Tractors Ltd.
  • VST gets prestigious supply of 1500 tillers to Assam under the world bank scheme
  • 100,000th power tiller rolled out

2007

  • Manufacturing milestone – 10,000 power tillers manufactured in 1 year
  • Joint venture agreement with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Limited to manufacture diesel engines at Mysore

2011

  • Commencement of International Business and VST Group logo released

2013

  • Setting up training center at Bhubaneswar in association with department of agriculture
  • Launch of VT 224-1D (22HP) tractor

2014

  • Mr. V.P Mahendra – Vice Chairman & MD inaugurated the new manufacturing facility at Hosur

2015

  • 300,000 Power Tiller milestone achieved
  • VTTL-PCD conferred with “Best Supplier Award” by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries

  • Rolled out VST Fieldtrac brand starting International Operations

2017

  • The Company enters into technology transfer agreement with M/s Kukje Machinery Co. Ltd., Korea, for manufacture of technologically advanced, Higher Horsepower Branson Tractor in India

2018

  • Celebrated Golden Jubilee for 50 years of operation in the domestic market with launch of VIRAJ Model in HHP Category
  • Mr. V.K. Surendra -Chairman, Inaugurated the new facility at Malur

2019

  • VST SHAKTI 270 MT HT Tractor launched

2020

At VST, we are proactively implementing energy management measures, and striving to reduce our corporate greenhouse gas emissions by installing 1100 KW of aggregate solar capacity across our facilities.

Water

At all our manufacturing facilities, we strictly adhere to a zero-discharge policy for wastewater, which ensures that the water utilized for operations is reused within the facility.

Waste

Through effective waste segregation, our facilities partner collaborate with authorized suppliers to ensure appropriate recycling or reuse.
